KC Fashion Week was an absolute blast. I always enjoy talking with my fashion industry friends, previewing new collections and taking glamorous pictures. This season was one of my favorites because I finally had the chance to enjoy each event feeling comfortable in my skin. I went into this season with a confidence that I've never had before.

I rarely, if ever tell myself "no." What Jasmine wants, Jasmine gets. That has always been the way that I've lived my life. When it comes to shopping and eating, my lack of self control have resulted in credit card debt and excessive weight gain. But a week ago, I decided to fight the urge to shop by challenging myself not to buy any of my favorite things for 2 weeks.

Yesterday was the first day of Spring and we were greeted with snow in Kansas City. How was the weather near you? I couldn't do anything, but laugh and slightly complain in my chipmunk voice on snapchat. LOL

Working full-time has taught me so much. I've learned a lot about myself and the world in general. This week marks one month since I slayed day one at my ad agency gig. Working for someone else has forced me to follow rules, be social and taught me so much a bout social media in general.

It has been exactly 10 months since my road to graduation ended and I walked across the stage as a University of Missouri first-generation college student. I never imagined that I would be working at my dream job, sticking to being natural, living with my grandfather or that Donald Trump would be running for President. Life has an interesting way of playing out.

Orange is one of the absolute best colors for women of color to rock. It brings out those golden hues and really accents the skin.

I get tons of request from people who need help with their blogs or don't know where to start with sharing their story. My advice is always the same, "Start now, with what you have." I started blogging almost 3 years ago with my laptop, camera phone images and no design background. I just wanted to share my story and to give nameless, faceless women the courage to chase their dreams.

I wore a mini skirt to work for the first time today. Have you ever worn a short skirt to work? Did you have on tights? As a millennial woman of color, I sometimes struggle with finding the correct length or material of skirt that is suitable for work.

#PostGradChat was the bomb.com last night. We discussed difficulties that we were facing post grad and dished on surprises that greeted us once we walked across the stage. Everyone had unique takes on post grad life, but nearly everyone was surprised at just how completely wrong we were about what post grad life would consists of. 

Today I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and finally share this post. These pictures are close to 6 weeks old or more. I honestly don't remember, but poor body image sucks and I'm over it controlling my life. 

 I'm so excited and a little nervous, but happy more than anything to start at my new job. I want to do well with the company, so I've decided to share some of what I've learned in terms of job searching, professional apparel and standing out in the saturated market space for good paying jobs post graduation.
