What was your motivation for starting your styling and consulting business?

I wanted to provide a medium for men and women to not only find out what latest trends are in men’s fashion but also educate people on style basics. I want to inspire people to find their own unique style to share with the world. Within the next five years I look to have additional consultants on my team as well as doing my own style television show.

Where do you find inspiration?

I look at color and pattern combinations in home décor to inspire me when it comes to style and fashion. The two are very similar to me when it comes to understanding how to combine textures and working with color pallets.

What is your biggest dream or aspiration?

My biggest dream is to create a style empire that reaches and encourages people to use clothes to paint the picture of their unique and individual style.

Describe your fashion story.

I never say I have a favorite outfit but what I like to do when creating a great look is mixing classic Southern Gentleman style such as Seersuckers or bowties with hints of modern touches.

Who is your style icon?

If I had to select one person I would say it would be Scott Disick. I love how he pays attention to the entire ensemble when creating a great look. He styles himself in a timeless manner despite being a younger man. Scott understands the basics of men’s fashion and does not conform to trends.

How would you describe your overall style?

My overall style is a nod to classic Southern Gentleman’s fashion combined with elements of preppy New England style. I enjoy mixing items such as school boy blazers with bowties and then mix it up with a great pair or wingtips or Prince Albert slippers. My overall style reflects my background of being Southern born but raised in the New England area. I enjoy wearing pops of color and mixing patterns to create interest.

What are your staple items?

My staple items are a great pair of shoes, pocket square and neck ties or bowties. These items can easily enhance a look quickly and command attention when incorporated stylishly together.

If you had to pick 1 item from your closet to describe you as a person, what would it be?

The one item in my closet that I would say best describes me is my navy blue Ralph Lauren school boy blazer I thrifted a few years back. It represents a timeless style from a classic American clothing company and is one of the first items I found at a thrift store since I began blogging about fashion. It represents simplicity and my beginnings as a blogger and style consultant.

Name your favorite pair of shoes.

My favorite pair of shoes right now is my brand new dark tobacco color Magnanni oxford shoes I was able to find at a consignment store.

Who is your favorite designer?

I really enjoy many designers work but I have to say Ralph Lauren is my favorite designer because it represents classic men styling. The quality, simplicity and attention to the details that you can find in Ralph Lauren clothing truly sets it apart from many designers.

What is your favorite season to shop for?

I enjoy shopping for the Spring because you have the opportunity to not only wearing Spring colors but also dress in layers to create interest in textures and patterns. When it comes to Spring attire you can really be very creative while transiting your look from the Winter to the Spring.

What is your favorite fashion publication?

GQ is one of my favorite publications because you are exposed to not only American style but fashion and style from all over the world. I love to see what is considered dapper on the other side of the world!

Where is your favorite place to shop?

My favorite place to shop is thrift and consignment stores. I completely love finding unique items to challenge myself to find a unique way to wear that particular piece that I found.

What career advice do you have for

TheeFashionStories

readers?

My career advice would be to educate yourself as much as possible about your industry, treat people and associates well and with respect and focus on your own path and don’t let what your competitors are doing distract you.

If you could relocate, where would you move? Why?

I think I would be interested in moving to Charleston, SC. I love that area because it is a combination of classic Southern history with a young and hip modern culture.
