#BlackGirlMagic Style Shoot with MadeAlikeStyle.com

What is #BlackGirlMagic? THIS! Black Girl Magic is flourishing in your chocolate skin. It means being carefree in your skin and thriving in your own world. I am obsessed with showing positive images of black women because frankly this world does an amazing job is dragging us down. People wonder why I love Beyonce so much, well she is a testament to black girls that we can achieve greatness. Seeing people who look like you flourish does something amazing for your confidence. Representation is important!!!

Black Girl Magic is flourishing in your chocolate skin.

I had a blast shooting with Tasha and Tamera of MadeALikeStyle.com. We all met in person about a year ago volunteering at a local high school and we've run into each other at fashion events ever since. You've seen them on my instagram before. (Ps. Follow me on instagram @thejasminediane.)

We shot in downtown Kansas City on a beautiful day! My favorite thing about this shoot is that we could collaborate and laugh together. We're all (life)style bloggers in the same city, but we chose to work together instead of comparing ourselves to each other. Collaboration is the name of the game! We are so much stronger together.

Read 3 reasons to absolutely support your local girl gang and why I choose to work with small brands. #BlackGirlMagic means supporting, encouraging and working with your fellow black girl. Forget negative stereotypes that say we can't work together without drama.

I hope this post made you smile and sparked your creative juices. Who can you collaborate with to make something great? It can be intimidating reaching out, but you can't let fear cripple you. Life is short and I want you to flourish, like for real! If you follow me on snapchat then you know I give out keys to flourishing, a lot.

Thank you to Tasha and Tamera for collaborating with me on this #BlackGirlMagic piece and their mom for taking our pictures! I can't wait to collab again. This is just the beginning!
