How to Style Knee High Boots

Knee-high boots? Yes. Church girls can wear knee-high boots, too. Maybe you already knew that, but I didn't. There was something in my mind telling me to stay away from knee-high boots, lace, and cropped tops. But I am defying fashion rules from here on out. Modesty is one of those topics that we shy away from in the fashion blogging community. It's also something harped on in the church. I'm a church-going fashion blogger so why not talk about the two, right? I wanted to tackle both with this look.
Too Sexy?
I was so nervous wearing this outfit because I was afraid to look sexy. Imagine that, wanting to look sexy as a woman but to also show Christ in the Earth. I am a Christian and recently got baptized, so it's important for me to show people who God looks like on earth. I could never be perfect or be Jesus, but I can be a light with a smile. It is also my duty to dress in clothes that honor God even when I want to be "sexy." Something's gotta give, right?
Cover Up
So with all of that replaying in my mind, I opted for this thrift store BCBG skirt, a denim top, and a leather jacket. I was completely covered, yet super stylish and even a tad bit sexy. Sexy didn't mean baring it all and modesty didn't mean not wearing my knee-high boots. It's all about balance, rather we're talking about style or life itself. You have to find what works for you and balance each part of you without compartmentalizing aspects of your being.
