Big Girl Power Tips to Empower Your Brand

Are you a female boss looking for girl power tips for your brand? I got you.

The Shee Group's Women's Empowerment Brunch + Panel featuring Yandy Smith-Harris set my soul on fire. Everything from the delicious food, stylish women in the audience, to the various panels filled with successful women, to Yandy's wise words was phenomenal. You could feel the sisterhood and authenticity in the room and not to mention the fact that I left with notes.

What?

Yes sis, I left with notes of wisdom and lots of inspiration to go harder for my brand. There is something special about seeing other women succeed and chatting with young boss women who are full of hunger. The Shee Group's Women's Empowerment Brunch + Panel was everything and more! Below are a few gems that you can apply to your brand.

Be selfish with your time.

Ding ding. You must sacrifice your time and energy to advance your brand. Being selfish with your time, looks like staying in to finish content or studying new makeup tricks on YouTube. Make it a habit to set aside time for your brand. I know it's tough because you have so much on your plate, but you must be selfish. Sometimes being selfish with your time looks like going to bed early to wake up early to finish working before everyone else wakes up. Find a schedule that works for you then stick to it. Here's a blog post explaining why you need to remove yourself from the noise.

Learn yourself.

This is one that never stops. Each day I am learning new things about myself. I try to clap for the parts of me that nobody sees and love the pieces of me that still need work, and sometimes I fall short. We all do. Learning yourself looks like finding what makes you laugh, what pisses you off, what foods you like to eat, etc. Learn your study habits, interests, fears, etc. Awareness is key to stop stressing.

Own who you are.

Sis, you must own who you are. Your brand won't stay around long if you don't know what you bring to the table. It takes time to figure out who you are and what you can offer the world, but once you know... own it. Don't let your quirks stop you from launching that book. You can be a second-rate version of someone else or an authentic version of yourself. The choice is yours.

Start with a team.

The top is no fun alone. You need a team to go far with your brand. Everything is going to cost you something, either time or money, the choice is yours. If you're a new brand, I suggest starting with an assistant to help you with your social media presence and pitching. Maybe you're a strict one woman show... your team could also be a group of successful female entrepreneurs who uplift each other. The point is to surround yourself with people who uplift you and your brand rather they are hands on or simply feeding your mental grind. Both are important.

Think about your legacy.

This one is BIG. Think about how you want to be remembered. What do you want people to say about your brand? How do you want people to remember your events? Think about it. It matters. Choose to create content that leaves legacy. Share your story to inspire someone else’s journey. Brands make big impacts when they can master storytelling.

I hope that you’re inspired to push your brand a little harder this month. You never know what 10 hours of grind will do for your brand’s image and revenue. You owe it to yourself to push past your laziness and crush the competition this year!
