7 Things to Remember When Traveling For Work

Traveling for work is one of my favorite perks of my job. In the last year and a half I’ve been to New York City, Columbus, St.Louis and Orlando for work. Sounds good, right? Yes, it is but to whom much is given, much is required. I want to share what I’ve learned along the way.
7 Things to Remember When Traveling for Work:
Punctuality: Be early to every meeting, dinner, break, flight, etc.
Technology: Charge your devices prior to traveling. Purchase a cute portable for charging in your bag. Here’s one of my favorite portable chargers.
Reason for Travel: Solidify the purpose of travel before heading to your destination.
Travel Light: Only pack what you absolutely need. I like to stick to carry on 1 carry on bag and 1 personal item to avoid waiting for baggage.
Monetary Responsibility: Set clear expectations on who is paying for the business trip.
Research: Dive into the agenda for the visit and research topics of conversation, industry trends and hot topics related to your client.
Rest: Go to bed early the night before you’re scheduled to meet with your client. You don’t want to be the sleepy girl with a full day’s agenda ahead.
I hope this post was helpful and insightful for you. Work travel is privilege that should be handled with care. Do you have any questions? Leave them below.
